DreamPi 2.0 Released!

The next major update to DreamPi is now available and it’s a big one! This release most notably adds support for the new DreamPi VPN network which will improve reliability and performance for certain IWANGO Japanese games including Sega Tetris and the Aero Dancing series. In addition, there are a whole host of other improvements in addition to support for TBA games. Huge thanks to all the contributors for their work on this release including Shuouma, SEGA RPG FAN, and Scrivani! And of course a big shout-out to Kazade, the original creator of DreamPi! See the full changelog below.

This update introduces Dreampi VPN support — a new feature designed to improve online gameplay for certain Dreamcast games.
Dreampi VPN has three connection nodes around the world and automatically picks the one that gives you the best connection.

Only specific games will be behind the VPN. For example, Phantasy Star Online (PSO) will continue to work exactly as before.
If the VPN service is ever offline, DreamPi will automatically fall back to its normal connection so you can keep playing without issues.

The VPN feature is mainly used for the IWANGO game suite.
You can check which games use DreamPi VPN by visiting the server status page.
