It’s time again to give away some free stuff! Up for grabs this month is a copy of Phantasy Star Online v.2! I don’t think I really need to go into detail about what this game is. If you’re browsing this site, I think there’s a good chance you know about it. If not, I really can’t fathom a guess as to how you wandered onto this webpage. Feel free to tell me in the comments though. Regardless, if you’ve been playing this game online by errr… “alternate means”, maybe you’ve been pining to get yourself an honest-to-goodness complete copy of the game with your very own serial number and key. Well here’s your chance!
If you’d like to enter for a chance to win, simply leave a comment below and make sure you include a valid email address in the “Email” box. Just for fun, let me know how long you’ve been playing Dreamcast online (or if you haven’t yet, what are you waiting for?!). The winner will be chosen one week from today (September 17th). Good luck!
Update: The winner has been selected! Congratulations to Tangt!
I just recently got really into the Dreamcast and PSO is for sure one of the games I would love get. I am not online yet, but I plan to in the future.
would wish too get a chance to this phantasy star online by sega 😍
Ive been playing since i got my dreampi back in 2016 at 15, so 6 years pretty much. Recently got v2 disc only and it ended up not working, so it’d be cool to get the disc and case. Ive played v2 only a couple times online with my burnt disc and its a fun time.
I just started messing with my Dreamcast online thru dial-up, with the help of my Mac OS 9 computer. Ive only tested the web browsing so far, but winning Phantasy Star would def be cool to check out the actual multiplayer gaming aspect of this system **finally**
I’ve been playing dreamcast online for about 2 years. TWO JAM PACKED YEARS FULL OFF STUNNING GAMNG EXPERIENCES 🙂 PSO is defo my fave
Despite buying my dreamcast in the summer of ’09 (for a $25) and it immediately becoming my favorite system from that point forward, I have only been playing online since spring of this year. I mostly play PSO online right now and I am looking to get my brothers to join me (one of which only got his Dreamcast in the last year). This copy would be for him. Anyways, thanks for the giveaway and good luck everyone!
How long have I been playing Dreamcast online?– 1999’ish-2001 (dial-up). Played mostly sports and some FPS as a teen. Sold my Dreamcast to my cousin in 2002 for cash before I bounced state for “higher education.” NOW – As an all-grown-up man, in 2015, my awesome girlfriend (now wife) re-bought me a Dreamcast as a b-day gift . We bought a lot of games I was unable to afford/play as a teen before the BIG collect-it-cuz-it’s-old-and-rare-and-we-can-youtube-review-it-for-views-BOOM, and damn… in that mix of purchases, I FINALLY got a copy of PSO V.1. Good Lord! Still playing offline. It’s like crack. I now know what all my rich friends back in the day were raving about. Bummed I never got to play it with a community of D-Cast comrades — That’s when I discovered the YouTube Chanel that lead me to this site because of the Pi equipment for purchase. THEN realized no one is playing V.1 of PSO — apparently the bee’s knees is V.2! WTF? Anyway. If I was awarded the V.2 copy you have for garbzeez, I’d 100% pick up the ethernet Pi doodads and get online faster than Trump can call crimes Witch Hunts/Hoaxes!!! Fingers crossed – Thanks/Gracias/Whatever-they-say-in-whrever!
I have been playing on my dreamcast since 2006, but it is my first time in pso, a month ago I was finally able to connect my console through Dreampi PC, a dream come true, I still remember when everyone dreamed of reliving the dreamcast online and now it is possible thanks to good people who give more life to this dream console 😀
In 2010 or 11 i got a BBA in the box for 70$ and never looked back, i dont even play modern games online anymore, if i have the time its almost always the Dreacmast, PSO is definitely one of my Favourite games to play online, here’s hoping Daytona someday can as well!
I was there. 9/9-99. And man, what a console this was, it was unreal to play with other people around the country. And such a sad story it was to hear that Sega is stopping the production. And I love that there’s still a huge community that has the same love to this console as I do. I could give this game to my son, to show him, what good games really used to be like back in the day.
I’ve been playing online with my Dreamcast since 2017/2018, and every time I’ve gone online I’ve had an absolute blast.
I haven’t played online on my Dreamcast but I certainly intend to. This is also a game I really need to pick up, it looks like so much fun.
I have had a dreamcast since around 2004, but have still never played online. Im planning on doing the dreampi pretty soon, mainly for the ability to brag about my new piece of gear but also gonna try out PSO after all these years.
I just unboxed my dreamcast on 9/9/22 and I’m planning on buying a modem for dreamPi sometime really soon to get it running online! Really want a game to test it out on and I figure what better game than PSO to test it with? It’s a little pricey for me right now so this giveaway is a good way to have a chance to get an authentic copy now. So excited to finally start my dreamcast and otherwise love the console so, so much.
I have never tried Dreamcast online, since none of the games I own even have online functionality. In the past month I have unboxed my old Dreamcast, ordered a Dreamshell kit, and salvaged my old VMU saves. I never had a chance to download DLC for my games because I had America Online which was not a compatible ISP. On a whim I tried to search for an archive of the DLCs and found your site and I am excited to try them for the first time after 21 years. I have heard good things about PSO, but never had a chance to play it. Thanks for providing the DLC archive!
I’ve been playing around with my DreamPi since the beginning of this year. Since then, I have been super interested into the online capabilities of the Dreamcast, and have been looking into Dreamcast homebrew game development, with the intent of having online supported. Of course, that actually happening just sounds difficult as heck haha. Anyway, I hope I get the game, as I’ve been trying to collect for the Dreamcast, but getting some of those games CIB costs a good amount of money, so its real difficult as a 16 year old with no job to collect for the console. So I figured, what the heck, why not give it a shot! Good luck to everyone!
Im new to the site, but have been playing PSOv2 on and off since the release. Truly one of my favs of all time!
Considered buying one at a Used game store a couple weeks back, maybe now will be my chance to finally own it! Been playing Dreamcast online on and off since July 2019. One of the coolest moments for me was when a random post I made on the Dreampipe Bulletin Boards back in 2019 appeared in Peter Knetter’s video.
Enter a giveaway!
A true classic!!
This would be amazing to add to my collection! I could use a legit copy of PSOv2!
As for how long I’ve been playing Dreamcast Online, I’d say close to a year on and off. Without DMZ, my choices are limited, but I still have fun with what I can, like PSOv2! I tend to play Maximum Pool a lot while Online, as well as 4×4 Evo, and use it to “Legit” download Sonic Adventure DLC’s based on time of year, trying to keep to the actual schedule the DLC’s came out on in the USA. Playing PSO is fun for me, especially since I’m so used to PSO2 and New Genesis; it’s fun to see how much they improved PSO2 compared to PSO!
It’s overall been a really fun experience, and helped change my view of the Dreamcast. At first I was basically in the camp of “This happened. Moving on.”, but now, I can see very clearly why, even 23 years later, the Dreamcast is a beloved console. It truly was ahead of it’s time, and a cult classic console!
A classic!
Such a good game!. Cant wait for driving strikers soon!
and ive been on DC online for 3years now playing as and when i can! 😀
I really wanna try getting one if my Dreamcast online, once I get around to setting them up.
I own every version of the official BBA, will those work, or is the modem to Raspberry Pi required?
The dreampi really opens up the dreamcast as a retro console. Neat to see some dedicated folks on quake and alienfront
I have not yet connected my dreamcast online :o. I have gathered everything needed for the dreampi setup except for the usb modem (it’s on it’s way), so I am very much looking forward to it!
Playing V1 at the moment and looking forward to see the file be converted for the V2!
Phantasy star online one of the best Dreamcast games!!!!
